2 Fri 10pm The Django Reinhardt Festival Allstars featuring Dorado Schmitt at the RegattaBar, Charles Hotel, One Bennett St. Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA  (617) 661-5050 $25  Dorado Schmitt, legendary Manouche gypsy guitarist from the Strasbourg region of France, returns to adoring fans. Schmitt started coming to the US in 2002 and has been a star attraction at major festivals and at Birdland in NY, home of the Django Reinhardt NY Festival, the sound of the legendary gypsy jazz guitarist (Django), with it’s driving rhythms and intricate harmonies is irresistable, an earthy exuberance not to be missed.

16 Fri 7:30pm Maryland: James Dapogny, Chicago’s internationally known jazz pianist , will kick off a whirlwind tour of the national’s capital area on Friday, November 16 with a concert in Silver Spring, Maryland. Leading an all-star lineup dubbed “The East Coast Chicagoans“, Dapogny is known both for his skilled work at the keyboard and his extensive knowledge of early jazz and swing styles including the work of Jelly Roll Morton. The concert at the Calvary Luther Church, 9545 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring. Fabulous New York & East Coast cornetist Randy Reinhart will join Dapogny on stage.
